What you get

Onsite IT support and End User Computing that resolves, fast

Our IT support in Accra and Lagos gives your organisation a certified helpdesk and onsite IT helpdesk response across Ghana and Nigeria. When something breaks, your people stop working and the cost adds up quickly. Every request is logged, owned, and tracked through a structured, ITIL aligned process, so nothing falls through the cracks.

From deskside End User Computing support to hardware repair and software troubleshooting, certified engineers resolve issues at first line where they can and escalate cleanly where they cannot. You get clear reporting on volumes, resolution times, and trends, and same day onsite response across our seven city footprint.

From the field

Break-fix at the desk it broke at

A single visit, laid out in full: system board with memory fitted, battery, heatsink and fan, storage, display assembly and chassis, on a field ESD mat in the client's office. Diagnosing and replacing at component level on site is what stops one fault turning into a collection, a queue and a loan machine.

Delivering value as a service means your people spend their time working, not waiting.
Response times

What same day response actually means, city by city

Almost every IT provider in this market describes its response as prompt, rapid or best effort. None of those is something a procurement team can hold a supplier to, and none of them tells you whether an engineer will reach your branch in Port Harcourt this afternoon or next week. These are the onsite response targets we work to, by city, so you can compare them against what you are being offered elsewhere.

Priority 1 means a fault that stops a site, a shared system or a critical user from working. Targets are measured from ticket acknowledgement, not from when the fault started. Extended hours, weekend cover and 24/7 standby are available under contract, and sites outside these seven cities are quoted individually.

Remote triage starts immediately. The targets above are for an engineer physically on your site. First line begins working the incident remotely as soon as it is logged, whatever the priority, and a meaningful share of tickets are resolved before a visit is ever needed.

Scope

The hardware and environments our engineers work on

Support contracts fail at the edges. It is rarely the laptops that cause the argument; it is the one printer model, the branch nobody listed, or the point of sale terminal that turned out to be somebody else's responsibility. So it is worth being explicit about what our engineers are equipped, credentialled and insured to work on across all seven cities.

  • Desktops, laptops and thin clients from HP, Dell, Lenovo and Apple
  • Printers, scanners and multifunction devices
  • Servers and rack hardware in server rooms and data centre suites
  • Network hardware: switches, routers, access points and structured cabling
  • Point of sale, kiosk and self-service terminals
  • Meeting room, conferencing and AV equipment
  • Windows and macOS estates, and the business applications running on them
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration
  • Branch offices, warehouses and remote sites away from the capital

Not on this list? Specialist and industrial hardware is quoted case by case. Tell us the make and model and we will say plainly whether we can support it, rather than discovering the gap on the day it fails.

How it works

From the ticket being raised to the proof it was fixed

The value of a support contract is not the promise at the start; it is what happens on an ordinary Tuesday when a branch loses its printers. This is the sequence every incident runs through, whether it is one user in Accra or a whole floor in Lagos.

  1. Logged and acknowledged

Requests arrive by phone, email or the ticketing system and are logged against your account inside the acknowledgement window. Every ticket is given an owner by name, not a queue to shout into.

  2. Triaged and fixed remotely where possible

First line works the incident immediately and resolves it remotely if it can. This is the fastest and cheapest outcome for both sides, and it is the reason a good helpdesk costs less than a bad one.

  3. Dispatched to a local engineer

If it needs hands, an engineer already based in that city is dispatched against the response target for your priority. Nobody is flying in, and nobody is driving from another country.

  4. Resolved on site and confirmed with you

The engineer diagnoses, repairs or replaces, and then confirms with the affected user or system owner that the thing genuinely works again before the visit is closed. A visit is not finished because the engineer has finished.

  5. Closed with proof of service

The ticket closes with a written record of what was found, what was done, which parts were used and which serial numbers were touched. That record is what your auditors ask for and what keeps your asset register from drifting.

  6. Reported and reviewed

Monthly reporting covers volumes, response and resolution against target, repeat faults and the trends underneath them, reviewed with you at whatever cadence your contract sets.

Who turns up

The engineer who arrives is local, vetted and credentialled

The person who walks into your building is the whole service. Ours live and work in the cities they cover, so an onsite call is a drive across town rather than a flight and a hotel bill. Each engineer is identity checked and reference checked before deployment, carries Hankaka identification on site, and works to a documented process rather than personal habit.

Hankaka does not yet hold company level ISO certification, and we would rather say so plainly than let a page imply otherwise. What our engineers do hold are the professional credentials this work actually calls for:

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft MCSE
  • ITIL
  • Chartered IT Professional

Service management follows ITIL practice for incident and request handling: defined priorities, single ownership, documented resolution and an auditable trail. Where our engineers handle personal data in the course of support, that handling is governed by Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and Nigeria's Data Protection Act, 2023, which replaced the NDPR in June 2023. Both are written into our engagement terms rather than left to assumption.

Why Hankaka for IT support

Support that is measured, not just promised

Fast support is only useful if it is consistent. Every ticket we handle is owned end to end, tracked against defined response targets, and closed with a record of what was done. That discipline is what turns a helpdesk into something your teams can plan around, rather than hope for.

Because our engineers are locally based across Accra, Tema, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Abuja, onsite response does not depend on an engineer travelling in from another city. And because IT support sits alongside our managed IT services and field engineering and dispatch, you can begin with helpdesk cover and scale into fully managed operations without changing partners or standards.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask us

What does Hankaka's IT support service include?
Hankaka IT support covers a certified helpdesk across phone, email and ticketing, deskside End User Computing support, hardware diagnosis and repair, software installation and troubleshooting, and same day onsite response. Every request is logged, owned and tracked against a defined response target.
Which cities do you cover for onsite IT support?
We cover seven cities across four countries: Accra and Tema in Ghana, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja in Nigeria, and Lome in Togo and Cotonou in Benin. Accra is our main base and Lagos is our Nigerian office, so engineers are locally based rather than travelling in from another city.
How quickly can an IT support engineer reach our site?
In the cities we cover, same day onsite response is the standard rather than the exception. Exact response and resolution targets are agreed in your service level agreement before work begins.
Do you support government organisations as well as enterprises?
Yes. We support private enterprises across Ghana and Nigeria, public sector and government teams in Ghana, and global technology partners delivering into both countries. Our processes and reporting are designed to satisfy enterprise procurement and audit requirements.
Is your IT support ITIL aligned?
Yes. Every incident moves through a structured, ITIL aligned process with clear ownership, defined resolution targets and full documentation, which gives you consistent handling, an auditable trail, and reporting on volumes and resolution times.
Can IT support be combined with managed IT services?
Yes. Many clients begin with helpdesk and onsite cover and then scale into fully managed operations without changing partners. See our managed IT services for the fully outsourced option.
What are your onsite response times for IT support?
Priority 1 faults, meaning anything that stops a site, a shared system or a critical user from working, carry a four business hour onsite target in Accra, Tema and Lagos, eight business hours in Abuja and Port Harcourt, and next business day in Lome and Cotonou. Standard incidents are same business day in the five Ghanaian and Nigerian cities. Remote triage begins as soon as the ticket is logged, whatever the priority. The full table by city is published on this page.
Do you cover sites outside Accra and Lagos?
Yes. We hold engineers in seven cities across four countries: Accra and Tema in Ghana, Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt in Nigeria, Lome in Togo and Cotonou in Benin. Branch offices, warehouses and remote sites away from those cities are supported too, on response targets quoted for the specific location rather than assumed.
What is the difference between IT support and smart hands?
IT support means we own the problem: your users raise tickets with us, our engineers diagnose and resolve them, and we report on the outcome. Smart hands means you own the problem and we are your hands on the ground, acting on instructions from your remote team, which is what global providers and OEMs usually need in a country where they hold no engineers. The skills overlap; the accountability does not. Most organisations buy support, most international partners buy smart hands.
What documentation do we receive after a support visit?
Every visit closes with a written record of what was found, what was done, which parts were used and which serial numbers were touched, attached to the ticket. Monthly reporting then covers volumes, response and resolution against target, repeat faults and the trends underneath them. That documentation is what audit and procurement teams ask for, and it is what stops your asset register drifting between counts.
Who is responsible for personal data our engineers see during support?
You remain the data controller; we act as a processor on your instructions. Handling is governed by Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and Nigeria's Data Protection Act, 2023, which replaced the NDPR in June 2023, and the obligations are written into our engagement terms rather than left to assumption. Where a device is retired rather than repaired, data is sanitised to a documented standard before it leaves your site under our Green ITAD service.
